Feed the birds, and contribute to songbird research and conservation

Join the Alaska Songbird Institute and Arctic Audubon Society with this winter’s Fairbanks FeederCount. For many decades, the greater Fairbanks community has been tracking winter bird movements and survivorship at their bird feeders through the Fairbanks FeederCount.

You can too! Just watch your bird feeder and record your sightings on three Saturdays throughout the winter (or within a week of the official count date). This year’s dates are: November 10, December 8, and March 2. If you are unavailable for one or two dates, you can submit data for just the date(s) you are available. After the March count, return your datasheet to the Alaska Songbird Institute. Download a data sheet and instructions HERE. For bird feeding and identification tips, visit the Alaska Songbird Institute website.
